Understanding Teams dashboard

Teams dashboard provides an overview of Teams activities and usage giving the statistics about groups, channels, device usage and comparing the numbers of active vs inactive users as well as Teams vs Skype for Business activities. 


The four tables present at the beginning on the dashboard are action-enabled, and you can click on them to open the reports to see more details. In particular, you can check the number of: 

  • total, created and deleted groups over the last 7 days,
  • inactive groups over the last 90 days,
  • empty groups and groups without owners over the last 30 days,
  • teams channels over the last 30 days.


While the graphics show: 

  1. percentage of inactive vs active users* based on Teams last activity date over the last 30 days,
  2. group count by access level*: private vs public, 
  3. external members count by groups
  4. Teams channels count by group*
  5. activity over time*: number of channel and chat messages, calls, meetings, other activities over the last 30 days,
  6. device usage: 
  7. Teams active and inactive users* by department or country over the last 30 days,
  8. Skype vs Teams usage: total number of Teams and Skype for Business activities, calls, chats, conferences that can be also seen by department or by country over the last 30 days.

* You can click on these reports to open the detailed report providing more details.


You have the ability to print or export an individual graphic on a dashboard in order to be shared.
